Ex-Generations actor accused of "beating his wife"

Mangaliso Ngema's estranged wife has obtained a restraining order amid claims of physical abuse.

Sunday World has reported that Busisiwe Chauke filed court papers two weeks after she could not take the alleged emotional and physical abuse any longer.

She also claims that Mangaliso took their children for the weekend but failed to return them for two weeks. Busisiwe's also made allegations that the high-profile actor has beat her for many years and during one incident she even ended up in hospital.

"He called me a foolish slut and threatened me with my life," she told the paper.

However, the actor denied abusing her or 'kidnapping' the children. He explained that the children wanted to live with him.

"I only slapped her once, on 3 June 2012, because she was screaming in my face when I was trying to address certain challenges," he explained.

Mangaliso added that he hadn't beaten her recently or threatened her life.

The actor will be appearing in court on 10 October.
