EXCLUSIVE: Lele Ledwaba allegedly beaten by Metro cop

Johannesburg- The Juice has learnt that Rhythm City actress, Lele Ledwaba, is being treated in hospital after sustaining numerous injuries during an apparent altercation with a female Metro police officer last night.

According to Lele's agent, Wesley Mark Gainer, Lele was travelling home from work on Monday evening when she was stopped by a female officer.

Speaking to The Juice, Wesley explained that Lele was stopped for allegedly yielding, instead of stopping, at a stop street.

"From what I understand, Lele was asked to get out of her car, and when she requested the officer's name and identification, she (the officer) allegedly became aggressive and started rough handling Lele," Wesley said.

Wesley explained that Lele was taken to hospital, where she is receiving treatment for a fractured wrist, a broken thumb and severe bruising on her shoulder.

It's understood that Lele's legal team will be handling the matter and are trying to track down the officer by using the registration number the actress managed to capture.

"This ordeal is absolutely shocking, especially at the hands of a female officer at the start of Women's Month," Wesley added.

Metro police spokesperson, Edna Mamonyane was not aware of the incident and could not comment on the matter until further details were provided.

When The Juice contacted Lele, she confirmed that she was in hospital receiving treatment.
