Flabba murder accused due in court today

Johannesburg - Murder accused, Sindiwe Manqele is due to appear in the Randburg Magistrates court today.

She is accused of murdering well-known musician, Flabba Hadebi.

Flabba was stabbed to death and his girlfriend, Sindi, was arrested soon after. In initial court appearances, her legal team said that it was an act of self-defence.

"I had been brutally attacked by the deceased on the day of his death," read a statement by Sindi presented to the court.

There have been several delays in the case, with the initial trial date set for May.

The trial was again postponed last month to today, and should it go ahead as planned, it's expected to be a brief series of formalities.
