Generations star dies

Cape Town – Messages of condolences have poured in after the death of legendary actor Tiki Nxumalo, well-known for his role Sompisi, Ruby’s father on the old Generations.

The actor died in the early hours of the morning on Monday.

According to a family member Tiki was found lying on the floor just outside his house in Lamont south of Durban.

Nelisiwe Nxumalo, who is a relative of 'the famous mkhulu', said they received a call in the morning informing them of his death.

"When we got to his house we saw his asthma medication on his bed. We suspect he might have collapsed trying to find help because he was alone in the house," she said.

The family is still in shock and have yet to meet about the arrangements of the funeral, but chances are he will be buried on Saturday.

The 65-year-old was not married and had no children. He leaves behind his siblings.

He became a household name after appearing in a KFC advert and thereafter got a role in Generations where he played the delusional character Sompisi.
