In less than two weeks the revamped version of Generations is expected to be back on television screens across the country.
However, speculation is rife over whether the SABC will bring back Generations considering that Skeem Saam raked in 7.7million viewers in it's first week.
The youth drama series replaced Generations on the 8pm slot, after the hit soapie was pulled off air to give producers time to work on a new version after 16 principle actors were fired.
"We did not expect such numbers," SABC spokesman Kaizer Kganyago told Sowetan.
Skeem Saam publicist, Percy Vilakazi told the newspaper that they weren't surprised at all by the drama's success. "The 8pm slot introduced us to people who might not have seen us before. The SABC will decide whether to keep us or not. They know the business more than we do," he explained.
SABC spokesperson, Kaizer Kganyago added that it was a difficult decision to make but anything could happen.
Should Generations be brought back or is Skeem Saam better?
