Gold Diggers' Thandy Matlaila scores soapie gig

Johannesburg - After three failed auditions, actress Thandy Matlaila has finally scored her dream role on Rhythm City!

e.tv spokesperson Matlapulana Ragoasha has confirmed to The Juice that Thandy, who has been acting on the channel's telenovela Gold Diggers (more on that here), has joined the popular soapie and is set to appear on our screens from next month.

"Thandy Matlaila has joined Rhythm City. She started shooting in September. Viewers will start seeing her for the first time in November," Matlapulana says. "She plays the role of Smangele, the mother of Speshil’s (Sayipsheni Mdakhi) 6 year old son."

Thandy took to social media to share her excitement at the new move.

The news comes only days after the channel confirmed that Tumisho Masha has joined Dineo Moeketsi the channel for their soapie Scandal! (read more about it here).
