Hotstix show to go ahead despite back injury

Johannesburg - It's been a painful week for musician Sipho Hotstix Mabuse.

This after the music veteran apparently broke his back on Tuesday, requiring treatment and 10 injections from his doctor for the pain.

But like a true warrior, Hotstix is determined to not let his fans down, and says he will be fine to perform at this weekend's Millennium Experience at Newtown Junction on Sunday.

"The show must go on. I am fine and will be ready to perform by Sunday,” he told Daily Sun this week.

Sipho will take to the stage with his long-time friend and fellow musician, Pops Mohamed, but don't expect the duo to be jumping around on stage.

"It will be as good as our last gig. We’re in much better shape in terms of music and we will leave no stone unturned. It’ll be a very relaxing atmosphere with a variety of music. More like church but a bit laid back and self-explanatory,” Hotstix told the paper.

The show is free to all fans but if you plan on going maybe take some pain killers for poor baba Hotstix. Shem.
