Howza arrested for dagga possession

Kwaito artist Howza was arrested for being in possession on 4,4g of dagga. According to Sunday Sun, Howza was arrested in Honeydew, Johannesburg, last Tuesday.

The paper is reporting that court papers claim that police spotted two African males exchanging a parcel while they were doing a routine patrol in the area. In a statement, police apparently said that upon investigation, they discovered that one was Nigerian and the other South African.

But when the Nigerian saw the cops, he allegedly ran to his car and sped off. "The other man also got into his car and drove away," the police said.

They reportedly followed the receiver of the parcel in the "drug-infested" infested area. "But the police said in an affidavit they followed Howza to Olievenhoutbosch Road where they signalled him to stop. Then they asked him to take out the parcel he got from the Nigerian, they said," the paper reported.

The police said when Howza refused to show them what he got from the Nigerian man, they searched him and found dagga in the school bag he was carrying. Howza was reportedly taken to Honeydew police station where he was charged with possession of dagga. He was released on R1?000 bail.

The actor confirmed his arrest and that he was buying the dagga for himself. "I was at the wrong place at the wrong time," he told Sunday Sun.
