In case you missed it: Hollywood actors spend Independence weekend partying it up in Cape Town

Celebrating  US Independence Day can be really hard when you half way around the world from home but for a number of A-List Hollywood actors it was as easy as popping the champers and dancing the night away in Cape Town.

According to the City Press, several Hollywood actors hit the (Cape) Town this past weekend to celebrate their countries 238th year of independence, including Coloured Girls actress Kimberley Elise, former NYPD Blue actress and model Garcelle Beauvais,  Waiting to Exhale actress Loretta Devine, Ugly Betty Star Rick Fox and The Blacklist actor Harry Lennix.

The actors are all in Cape Town for the filming of the Hollywood movie Back to School Mom, a drama about a lady who goes back to school and meets the son she gave up 20 years earlier.

According to the Sunday paper, the cast of the film decided to head to Coco CPT nightclub in Loop street on Friday night where they sipped on Johnnie Walker Black Label and Ciroc Champagne while being flocked by fans wanting to take pictures with the stars.

Kimberley tweeted a picture of herself with Garcelle, saying  "Happy Independence Day from me and @Garcelle Beauvais all the way from#SouthAfrica ! Mawah!!!" and "Though I'm far away from home I am thinking of my fellow Americans, my beloved homeland, and the freedom we have in it. Happy #FourthofJuly!! #USA#pride #homesick".

Proof again that there's no place better to celebrate your independence than in South Africa!
