Some observers have called it a tad predictable but last night's Emmy's proved to be a great evening, especially if you're a Breaking Bad or Modern Family fan.
The two prime time shows proved to be the night's biggest winners, scooping wins in seven of the awards top categories.
Popular crime drama Breaking Bad, which came to an end after 5 seasons last year, was the night's biggest victor grabbing the awards for Best Drama and Best Writing in a drama series, as well as Best Actor and best Supporting Actor and Actress in a Drama series for it's cast. Only a win for The Good Wifes' Julianna Margulies for Best Actress and Cary Joji Funkunaga for Best Director prevented Breaking Bad from sweeping all of the prizes in the Drama category.
If Breaking Bad dominated the Drama categories then the hilarious comedy Modern Family certainly made its mark in the Comedy section of the awards. The show won the award for Best Comedy and best Supporting Actor for Ty Burrell, while its director Gail Mancuso won the Award for Best Comedy Director.
