Isidingo's Kevin Smith relives his horror crash

Johannesburg - Isidingo actor, Kevin Smith is recovering well after a horror accident that nearly cost him his life and limbs.

Kevin, who plays Frank in popular SABC3 soapie Isidingo, was in a motorbike accident 3 months ago. This week he spoke out about his pain and living with the scars, both physical and mentally, caused by the accident.

Talking to Sunday World, Kevin says he was excited to be starting a new chapter in his life as a director on the night of the accident, but his life has been turned upside down ever since.

As he turned on Corlett Road in Johannesburg, he was hit by another car. The next few weeks were a rush to save Kevin and his leg after doctors feared his limbs may have had to be amputated due to blood poisoning.

"It was the beginning of an irreversible journey that would put me through the toughest physical, mental, emotional and spiritual challenges of my life thus far. At times, I seriously doubted my ability to get through it, but I did," he says.

Kevin says that he did not meet the woman who hit him, but wishes he had so that he can ask her what she was thinking that night.

But life goes on for Kevin, who has now taken a seat behind the cameras as a director on the show.

Maybe if he ever meets the lady who crashed into him, he can direct her on how to drive!
