Jhene Aiko: I love South Africa

Johannesburg- American singing sensation Jhene Aiko is loving every moment of our beautiful country so far!

Jhene, who touched down in the Zulu Kingdom on Thursday morning for the MTV MAMAs tonight, revealed that she can't wait to get out there and explore more of what the country has to offer.

The petite bombshell addressed the media at a press conference on Friday night, ahead of the swanky awards ceremony, where she's set to perform.

Jhene, who is the only international female artist to take to the stage tonight, believes that more women need to come out and express themselves.

"If music is your passion and your dream, and your heart is really in it, then pursue it to no end. Don't be surprised if it doesn't happen immediately for you, I started writing music when I was 12-years-old, and I'm now 27, and it's not about how much money I can make, but connecting with people and expressing myself," she explained.

The Beware hit maker added that she's looking forward to networking with our very own stars, and experiencing the talent that our country has to offer.

Catch the awards live tonight (Saturday 18 July) on MTV Base at 9pm or on e.tv at 10pm. Or follow us on Twitter @TheJuiceSA for live updates to find out who walked away with the most awards, and who slayed on the red carpet.
