Just in: Cassper lays charges after gun incident

Cassper Nyovest's PR team has confirmed that he has laid charges against a member of AKA's entourage, Prince Nyembe.

Cassper was due to perform on Live Amp last night, but claims he left before he went on air after a gun was pulled on him.

In a statement, Cassper gives his side of the story.

"Due to an incident involving another artist, also due to perform on the same show, Kiernan Forbes, more commonly known by his artist name AKA, Cassper Nyovest was unable to showcase his latest single. The incident involved one of AKA’s entourage members’, known as Prince Nyembe, threatening Cassper Nyovest with a firearm and AKA assaulting Cassper’s Road Manager, Tshepo Seone better known as ‘Spike’."

The statement goes on the explain that charges have been laid at the Randburg Police Station.

Cassper says “I feel this incident was unnecessary and was a sad day for the entertainment industry in South Africa. I chose not to retaliate as I have lived the life of gangster violence before and walked away from it to pursue my music career. As I am a public figure now what message would I be sending out to the people that support me. Therefore I will take the correct procedures to deal with the matter”
