K.O on that 'beef' and who he'd NEVER collab with...

Johannesburg - K.O may be the king of hip hop at the moment but how is his kingdom doing?

The Juice had a chat with the rapper recently where we got the chance to talk to him about his career, the state of the hip hop industry and the 'beef'.

On beef

K.O says he has no time for beef and would rather focus on his music.

"For me the whole 'beef' thing is a gimmick. It works for some and doesn't work for others. I feel like it's something I don't need in my life," he tells us.

"I had people taking shots at me over stupid things, but I never felt the need to entertain it because that's not what I'm built on. I want to be known for my music and talent and not for saying things about someone. I don't need that," he adds.

He won't deny that he's had beef with rappers in the past, but insists he would sort out his beef behind closed doors.

"If I have a problem with someone, I solve it personally. I don't do Twitter. I don't do that other stuff that makes me look like a tough person to the rest of the world," he says.

"I'm a gentlemen. I talk to the person and if there's an issue we'll talk about it. Just not with violence," he says.

On AKA

But one person K.O is not beefing with is fellow rapper AKA.

He feels that it's just a matter of time until AKA's album goes gold and believes the All Eyes on Me rapper will be around for a long time still.

"He's one talented artist and I know a few people will think he goes over the top with his personal opinion but, luckily for him, what he says is often factual," K.O says.

"He's not about to run out of gas anytime soon, he's unstoppable and one of the best rappers in hip hop. I honestly believe if he doesn't make gold with this album, which I think he will, then he'll make it with the next one".

On a hip hop collab with Cassper

K.O says he would definitely work with AKA again, but writes off any chance of a super collab between himself and Cassper, or a collaboration with anyone he feels doesn't brings the right energy.

"I won't lie, I'm not friends with Cassper or anything, but I don't have a problem with him. I'm not into doing collaborations just for the hype or money. I feel like it should be organic and between two people who have the right energy. That's all I want", he tells us.
