Karlien's girls night out as Derick recovers from car crash

Johannesburg - Singer Karlien van Jaarsveld has been hard at work ever since she announced her split from husband, Derick Hougaard.

Days after posting the announcement on her Facebook page, Karlien was on tour performing across the country.

The public split has been met by prayer groups, with fans begging the singer to work on her marriage.

Derick posted a picture of an accident scene on his Facebook page on Tuesday, thanking paramedics after he was involved in a "big car accident". (See that story here)

There has been no further update on how he is doing, but the former Springbok player did confirm that he was alright, he said: "Just want to say that there are still very nice people with good hearts. Thank you for the messages. I appreciate the love. And it makes me forever grateful."

On the same day as the accident, Karlien seemed to be in a very different situation after posting a picture of a girls night out on Instagram.

Posing with singers Karen Zoid, Corlea Botha and Zolani Mahola, she captioned the pic: "Girls night @karen_zoid @carabrink @zolani @CorleaBotha"
