Kelly's UK tour cancelled in 'solidarity against Xenophobia'

Johannesburg - It's being reported that Kelly Khumalo's UK tour, which was due to kick-off on 1 May, has been cancelled by promoters.

The New Age is reporting that Kelly, as well as Brickz, have had their tours suspended. Bricks was due in London today.

Elite promotions, based in London, says the tours have been cancelled "as a show of solidarity with the victims of Xenophobia".

Kelly told the paper that she was disappointed by the decision. "I’m sad that my tour has been postponed but I’m more saddened by these Xenophobic attacks. As Africans we are all born from the same womb, which is Africa."

Meanwhile, the promotion company has called on government to take action and arrest those responsible for the attacks.

The move has been lambasted by many, with locals saying that it's a boycott on local stars at a time when the world should be uniting.
