Khaya Mthethwa discusses new album

Khaya Mthethwa is back!

The Idols winner, who comes from Durban, has titled the 14-track album The Uprising. He told Daily Sun that this urban gospel album has sounds from West and Southern Africa.

Khaya, who is also a  composer and songwriter, told the paper that he wants to be more than just an artist in the music industry. He has already had a taste of success after his debut album, For You, went gold.  Speaking about the success of the album, he said: "It made me feel good as a young musician. It encouraged me to work hard because I've always loved gospel music."

To give fans a taste of his new album, Khaya has been posting short clips of some of his songs on Instagram. One clip was captioned: "Track 9. Pour of yourself & When we worship you. This medley is cry out for God to release himself upon us, our longing and need for him grows as we encounter him More and More each day. As he rises from the inside of you, there is not situation that will be too deep to sink you."
