Kwaito artist L'vovo Derrango joins Uzalo

Johannesburg - Kwaito heavyweight L'vovo Derrango has joined popular SABC 1 telenovela, Uzalo.

The show's publicist, Sanelisiwe Bhengu, confirmed to The Juice that L'vovo has joined the show and started work on the set from Tuesday.

"I can confirm that he has joined Uzalo but cannot confirm whether he will be joining the show in a permanent role or whether he will be a call actor. As time goes by we will see what happens with his character and make our decision," Sanelisiwe says.

L'vovo will play the role of Mandla on the show, but the soapie was hesitant to reveal any more about his character.

Apparently L'vovo impressed on his first day on set with very few mistakes and more than a few exciting moments.

"He was excited. The cast made him feel right at home and they seemed to have lots of fun together. They were shooting outside on location at a panelbeaters and he seems to be a natural," Sanelisiwe says.

L'vovo spoke earlier this year about his decision to dedicate 2015 to his acting career, talking openly about his goal to win a SAFTA award for acting. And it seems he is now one step closer to his goal.

Audiences can expect to see him The Boss L'vovo on our TV screens around September.

We can't wait!

Meanwhile, here's some L'vovo on his first day...
