Matlala Mokoko: "I have no regrets"

Former Miss SA 2nd princess, Matlala Mokoko has revealed that she has no regrets over loosing her title.

Earlier this week, Sun International and Miss SA released a press statement confirming that Matlala had been relinquished of her title, after she was found to be in breach of contract.

Matlala entered and won the Miss Mamelodi Sundowns pageant over the weekend.  She told Sowetan that she was sad about the way the organisers handled the matter and insisted that she had asked for permission before entering the pageant.

The beauty queen says that her passion for sports, youth development and education is what motivated her to enter Miss Mamelodi Sundowns.

According to the paper, Matlala walked away with R2 million worth of prizes, which included R300 000 in cash and a car. While, from Miss South Africa she won R 7500 Africology Spa Vouchers.

"As far as I know I lose only the title and I have no regrets," she said.

Matlala further explained that she wants to be aligned with an organisation that makes a difference by empowering women and alleviating poverty.
