Minnie Dlamini's foundation gets off the ground

Johannesburg- The Minnie Dlamini Foundation, which was launched last year, is going full-steam ahead to make a difference to impoverished communities. 

Minnie started the foundation because she wants to make a difference in the lives of young people, who know where they want to be in life. 

The Soccerzone presenter wants to be able to help young girls achieve their dreams by getting an education. Earlier this year, it was reported that Minnie's foundation is already educating three high school girls with the proceeds from her calendar.

Minnie recently spent some time in Durban, raising funds for a high school to be able to build a Maths and Science labs, as well as other much needed supplies. 

Meanwhile, Minnie is preparing to jet off to Los Angeles this weekend for the annual BET Awards, where she will be presenting the BET International Act: Africa and BET International Act: UK. 

"I'm beyond excited! This is a blessing and I am so grateful for the opportunity, Minnie said.

With hopes of growing the number of students her foundation funds, the former Live Presenter said, “Eventually what we want to do is be an actual full scholarship.” 

The Calendar which is sold on her website for R150 and not available in retail stores because “I knew that my following was Online. With retail it becomes very tricky because one has to compromise on size and picture quality. Also, shelf space is very expensive,” she sai
