Matlala Mokoko has had to give up her title as Miss South Africa's 2nd Princess.
The news comes eight months after Matlala took home her crown. The 23-year-old beauty lost the title after she entered another beauty pageant, which is against Miss South Africa's rules.
Matlala entered and won the Miss Mamelodi Sundowns beauty pageant, where she reportedly took home a whooping R2 million in cash and prizes.
"Sun International and Miss South Africa today congratulate Matlala Mokoko, 2nd princess of Miss South Africa 2014, on her win of Miss Mamelodi Sundowns. Miss Mokoko will, unfortunately, have to relinquish her title as a Miss South Africa 2nd Princess as she is in currently in breach of her contract with Miss South Africa and therefore will have no further obligations to the Miss South Africa pageant or any future events related to the pageant," said Sun International's PR manager Claudia Henkel in a statement.
Adding, "We wish Matlala a very successful reign and know that she will be a great ambassador to the Mamelodi Sundowns."
