Morgan Gould's fashion range to benefit young kids

Johannesburg - If we can't play like Morgan Gould, at least we can kind of dress like him, right?

The Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs defender launched his fashion range some time back. Putting him in the esteemed company of Lehlohonolo Majoro and Teko Modise (read more about Teko's plan to take over the fashion world here).

Speaking to YFM recently, Morgan explains that the inspiration behind his brand of clothing came when his friends were joking about his name and All Gold Tomato Sauce.

"They say great ideas come from drunk people. Not that my friends are alcoholics," Morgan laughs.

Morgan says all the profits from the sale of his clothing goes to helping young people get an education, through his MG Cares foundation.

"I want to do good in the community. I had the opportunity to go to school and play football and it doesn't end there for me. I want to give other kids that opportunity. Even if I only see two kids in the next 10 years going to a good school and getting bursaries, it will be worth it," he adds.

Morgan reveals that part of his desire to give back comes from losing his grandmother a few months ago.

"I had the most difficult year ever. She passed on a couple of months ago. She was my pillar of strength. People who know me, know that she brought me up to be a man full of morals and respect. Everything I am is because of her," he reveals.
