Overview: It's 1984 and Margaret Thatcher is in power. Things get very interesting after the National Union of Mineworkers goes on strike.
What's it about? This causes a London-based group of gay and lesbian activists to raise money to support the families of the striking workers. The group and the miners then figure it would be best if they merged, which would create an even bigger and more effective union.
Our fave bits: This is such a moving story with so many real and dramatic moments. There are also very funny moments, which give some sort of break from the story's intensity.
