In a nutshell: UK indie pop rock band, the Arctic Monkeys have gone real rock star with their recent album, AM, wearing leather, slicking back their hair and talking aimless shit about rock n' roll not being dead at the Brit Awards. This week they released their third single from their latest album.
What’s it like: Filled with dream sequence guitar riffs and fantasy vocals. It's a journey across love and the universe that just makes you want to put on your interstellar 'gater skin boots and climb in your rocket ship. Front man, Alex Turner’s lyrics just get more and more intricate and fantasy filled with every passing song and on Arabella he delivers some of his finest lines in such rapid succession you would think he's rapping or something.
Fave Bit: Its climax. The tempo of the song slowly builds until there's a rush of lyrical genius between Turner and drummer Matt Helders that ends in a guitar solo that's just so gorgeous it makes us teary eyed.
Rating: Perhaps one of the best songs one of last year’s best albums finally gets released as a single. It's rock brilliance like only the leather clad Monkeys could make. 5/5
