In a nutshell: Super DJ, David Guetta, has been all about crazy western and old school sounds lately and this time he takes another dip at the country sounds as the inspiration for his latest single Lovers on the Sun
What’s it like: A horse ride through the Wild West. Maybe it's the whistling and banjo-like chords that run through the song but Lovers on the Sun sound likes the theme song for a Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid remake. Westerns are a popular sample sound in EDM at the moment and it's a sound that compliments Lovers on the Sun well.
Fave Bit: The verses of " let's light it up/ let's light it up/until our hearts catch fire/then show the world a burning light that never shined so bright" are catchy and so simple you could almost see them being chanted at the club or in the car on the way to work.
Rating: David Guetta is so talented that no matter what he releases it's guaranteed radio play. And with country or western sound being the latest craze in EDM at the moment, Lovers on the Sun looks sure to do well on the charts. Will its success be in riding the country-EDM craze? Or will it be the last of the trend before the bubble bursts? 4/5
