In a nutshell: We've been in absolute love with local electro outfit Good Luck's sound since the crazy vocals on Trickery and so when we heard them announce their single Figure of 8 we were really excited. But is it any good?
What’s it like: A bicycle ride on a lazy Sunday- a relaxed ride in a familiar environment. Figure of 8 has a lot of elements that scream Goodluck, which fans of the band will really enjoy. The vocals are strong and the sound very radio friendly. There's no doubt it will do well on South African charts, but it doesn't hold enough stand out moments to warrant remembering it in a year or two's time.
Fave Bit: The slow, Saxophone solo in the middle of the song is deep, haunting and full of reflection. A brilliant change of pace in the song that makes it so much stronger.
Rating: Although the vocals on Figure of 8 are not as memorable as those on one or two other Goodluck albums, that may be down to the overall pace of the song, it's still a solid single with many highlights. 4/5
