In a nutshell: Local pop singer Jimmy Nevis releases his second album. But will it be as much a hit with the masses (get it?) as his debut, Subliminal?
What's it like: Getting carried in a hot air balloon. The Masses contains a great mix of pop and soul tracks that seem to carry us away in a haze of love and harmony.
Fave bit: The lead single, Misscota, signals a new kind of sound for Jimmy that is refreshing in an album that starts to sound a bit monotonous at times.
Rating: The Masses is a great pop album that follows in the footsteps of Jimmy’s debut album. Sadly, there isn’t enough experimentation on the album to set it apart from any other pop-crooner music we hear on the radio. 4/5
