In a nutshell: KO has finally dropped his debut solo album to massive hype and incredible expectation. Will it be able to hold up to the pressure?
What’s it like: A tour through South African ghetto life - in music. Even the albums title can't really prepare you for just how much ghetto influence is on Skhanda Republic. It's packed to the brim with ekasi beats and township-life inspired lines.
Fave Bit: Besides the hugely popular Caracara, we really like One Time, which sees him teaming up with fellow Teargas member MaE, and Skhanda Love, which contains the beautiful vocals of Nandi Mngoma.
Rating: We've been waiting a very long time for Skhanda Republic to finally drop and it doesn't disappoint, making this one of the best local hip hop albums released this year 4/5
