Music: The Eskimo Writer - First Ray of Sun

In a nutshell: Endemol MD, Siven Pillay AKA The Eskimo Writer has released his debut album.

What’s it like: A Crowded House. A tad one tracked with a constant blues and instrumental sound. It's like elevator music.

Fave Bit: A collaboration with local Hip Hop artist, Slikour. The track puts up the tempo towards a more edgy feel, and that's even before Slikour makes his appearance.

Rating: As far as a debut goes , it's a solid release. In an industry that prides itself on professionalism, this is a safe release with a good consistent sound. Older fans will appreciate the routine sound but younger fans of the pop-folk genre will be crying for more daring variety, like the Slikour collab.  3/5
