Johannesburg - When Trevor Noah was announced as the host of The Daily Show, there was mixed reaction in America.
Many went back into his Twitter history and labelled him as anti-semitic and sexist.
But Trevor has won over more than a few people, after performing in New York and Connecticut over the weekend.
He made fun of how his gran reacted when he told her his big career news.
"You got a new job, which is fun."
Turid Wheeler, a South African living in Connecticut says he had the audience in hysterics.
"He was really funny. Everybody was in hysterics and all my American friends thought he was really funny."
She says that while there was hype around the show 'most left excited to see him take over from Jon Stewart.'
Here's what other fans had to say...
