7 local stars and their must-read books

Johannesburg – Many of our local stars have now added “author” to their long list of talents, penning tell-all books and giving fans an inside look into their lives. 

With the recent success of Trevor Noah’s book, Born A Crime, we were inspired to take a look at some of our fav celebs-turned-authors and their must-read books.  

1. Trevor Noah – Born a Crime 

A bit of an obvious choice, but it would be a crime for us to leave Trevor and his best-selling book off of this list.

2. AB de Villiers – AB de Villiers, The Autobiography 

One of South Africa's most loved sport stars, cricket player AB de Villiers, shares his personal journey with fans in this autobiography, opening up about his childhood and his amazing sporting career.

3. Gareth Cliff – Cliffhanger 

Gareth's Cliff's book has yet to be released, but we can already tell that it's going to be a good one. We're patiently waiting, Gareth.

4. Suzelle DIY – Suzelle DIY, The Book 

We love watching her awesome videos, but did you know you can get your daily dose of Suzelle's smart DIY projects from her book as well?

5. Kabelo Mabalane – I Ran For My Life 

In his book, Kabelo shares both the highs and lows in his life, from being an award-winning musician, to struggling with a drug addiction. The star also talks about how he used running to help him overcome, and deal with, his problems. 

6. Khanyi Mbau – Bitch, Please! I’m Khanyi Mbau.

This tell-all book dove deep into Khanyi's life, revealing many stories from her sordid past. Word on the street is she's working on book number 2.

7. Gayton Mckenzie – Trapped 

Businessman, Gayton Mckenzie penned this inspirational book to encourage readers to do what makes them happy.
