7 songs you probably didn't know Maphorisa produced

Johannesburg – Maphorisa is quickly becoming one of SA’s most well-known producers, making a name for himself not only in the country but with artists abroad too. Yes, his worked on a Drake track and has new single out with Major Lazer, but that’s not the only hits this star has produced.

Speaking to The Juice at an exclusive screening of his Gqom Wave documentary, Maphorisa says the hit that changed it all for him was Mafikizolo’s Khona. “My favourite if I could choose now is Particula. But I would say the first one that really changed my life is Mafikizolo’s Khona. That one was kind of like a really African song that really gave me opportunities to work with other people.”

When asked which major song he wishes he played a part in, the star says he's loving Kwesta's new hit Spirit. “It was done by Makwa. I wish I was a part of it, because it was an influence from the Ngud' song. I’m loving that I’m also an influencer to other people with my sound. So it really makes me feel special that actually from N’Gud to Spirit, it’s like wow! And it’s a big song also, and it’s topping the charts.”
