Fans of the popular drama series The Queen were left shocked after the news on Marah Louw leaving the show made headlines this past weekend.

The veteran actress who played the role of Boi on the show allegedly told Sunday Sun newspaper that she was treated like “trash”. According to the paper, the actress left the show after Ferguson Films could not reach an agreement for her contract.

“I declined to take their offer because they treated me like trash," she said.

But Connie Ferguson finally broke her silence when she spoke to the producers of Trending SA on SABC.

During a WhatsApp conversation with the producers, Connie denied ever treating the 60-year-old actress like “trash”.

“I’m not sure what Mme Mara’s allegations are exactly, so it’s difficult to respond,” she wrote.

“She would have to do better than just say that she was treated like ‘trash,’” she continued.

The 48-year-old actress mentioned how respectful they had been towards Marah, since she was an elder.

“We have been nothing but respectful especially to her…With the way I was raised, it makes me extremely uncomfortable engaging with her on a mud-slinging level. It’s not my style,” she continued.

The actress then concluded by saying that all she could do was pray for Marah Louw to get peace.
