It was only last week that businessman Nico Matlala posted a video on social media that suggested he had a new girlfriend. But now, it seems, Nico and Lebohang Mabe are giving things another go.

According to Daily Sun, Nico regrets their recent high-profile break-up, and said: “The entire ordeal made me come to my senses and now we are trying to move forward”.

He further went on to apologise to Lebo’s family, and the public, for how the two of them behaved. This came after Nico and his then-ex, Lebo, had spent the night in holding cells last weekend after they had laid charges against each other.

Nico was taken to the Olifantsfontein Police Station’s holding cells on Thursday 7 December, after allegedly assaulting Lebohang at their home. He was then released on bail on the Friday, on condition that he didn’t contact Lebo during his trial.

Lebohang was also arrested that Thursday, by the Midrand Police, for apparent damage to property. She was taken to court on the Monday after her Sunday release, but Nico withdrew the charges against her.

The infamous businessman is best known for his relationships with female celebrities such as; actress Palesa Madisakwane and singer KB.

Speaking to Sunday World in an interview Palesa Madisakwane said she couldn’t say anything ‘negative’ about her ex.

“I don't want to be negative to him because he really cared about me. We only had our issues over his exes," she said.

He was also recently in the news for almost being implicated in car theft.

According to Sunday World, Matlala was arrested after he allegedly stole a Mercedez Benz C180 that he hired from a rental company at the OR Tambo International airport.
