Our Perfect Wedding (OPW) presenter Nomsa Buthelezi says she isn’t affected by criticism and remarks about how she dresses.

The Lockdown actress, who first appeared on OPW as a stand-in presenter for Thembisa Mdoda, told DRUM that although she isn’t on Twitter she knows what people are saying about her fashion sense.

“Nomsa must fire her stylist #OPW," said @mosssima on Twitter

“I was about to ask who let Nomsa wear this "traditional" outfit but I won't. #OurPerfectWedding #OPW," added @eazyed47

-EyamaNgwane‏ @khosikm: “#opw Nomsa looks nice but?? that shirt is too see through, no?????‍??.”

Well, it isn’t her fault, she declares.

“I don’t style myself, there are people dressing me,” she explains. But she could use the critics’ styling services if they wish. “If you feel I dress bad and you’re a seamstress, then please make me a nice dress,” she jokes.

But she admits her stylist wasn’t making her look her best. “Sometimes I see a dress and I’m like WTF, I go crazy. But when you’re far from home there’s nothing you could do but wear what’s given to you.”

However, Nomsa, who also plays MaMnisi in Isibaya, says the OPW’s producer ConnectTV now buys her on-screen clothes.

Eagle-eyed tweeps have noticed the change in style.

BurcksonJude’s Bae‏ @crazynellz: “Wow, Nomsa’s outfit looks good #OPW.”

Lebogang Ramaboea‏ @Leborams: “25min gone and no clivovo from Nomsa #OPW.”

As everyone knows Black Twitter is savage but Nomsa doesn’t take it to heart.

“I know how harsh Twitter is but there are people who trash Nomsa to make themselves feel better, so I don’t really care. If you don’t like Nomsa switch off the TV or change the channel,” she suggests.

While her fashion sense leaves a bitter taste in some mouths, her shape and size ruffle a few feathers too.

One Twitter user, Shayne Rashopola‏ @Rori4sure, wrote: “#OPW I thought I have seen it all, but yoooh I clevavho ka sis Nomsa, what size is the bra, I wonder.”

But Nomsa hit back at the body-shaming. “I’ve never been a skinny girl, you can say I’m fat, I don’t care. I was born like this, and it’s not something new to me.”

However, on leaving the show she says it’s bittersweet.

“I was just a guest presenter but people loved me and the producers ended up giving me more episodes because I was doing well.”

But soon she’ll have to bid her fans farewell. “I would stay but I don’t have the power. But at least I would be able to take my baby to crèche because OPW working hours are very hectic; I wasn’t spending enough time with my kids anymore.”

Nomsa concluded that she hopes one day she gets her own presenting gig.
