Singer/actress Jennifer Hudson and her fiancé of nine years, David Otunga, left us reeling after announcing their separation.
According to reports by E! Online, the Oscar-winning actress accuses David of physical and mental abuse and has filed a protective order against him. JHud states in her order petition that David had been showcasing “increasingly aggressive, threatening and harassing behaviour” towards her and their son, David Jr (8).
Pro wrestler David’s attorney came to his defence in a statement. “Mr Otunga has never abused or harassed Ms Hudson or their son. He wants to make it very clear that he denies each and every allegation contained in that petition. Mr Otunga is now and has always been the primary caregiver of the parties' son,” he said.
Locally, these couples broke hearts when they announced their splits: Zwai and Melanie Bala, who were married for 10 years; Thembi Seete and singer Bobo Seritsane, who were also together for more than a decade; and Unathi and Thomas Msengana, who were together since 2009.
We hope we’ll be seeing more hook-ups instead of break-ups in Tinseltown next year.
