Stars’ terrifying moments in 2017

The high life often comes at a high price – and for famous faces it’s no different.

Several celebrities found themselves in dangerous situations this year, including robberies or attacks, with some being severely traumatised or even killed.

The stars were the victims of crime in 2017.

 

Vusi Nova

Vusi and his friend were kidnapped by hijackers on 25 August in Melville, Gauteng. It’s alleged they’d just finished performing at a concert were dropped off in Riverlea when they were.

 

Dumi Masilela

Dumi was shot and killed in Tembisa in a botched hijacking. He and a friend were in his parked car, a VW Golf GTI 7, when a black Jeep approached them. The Rhythm City star tried to flee and a car chase ensued where one hijacker opened fire and killed Dumi.

 

Khama Billiat

Mamelodi Sundowns star Khama was at an Engen garage in Kyalami, north of Johannesburg, earlier this year when six gunmen armed with AK-47s entered with the petrol station. The former PSL player of the season, midfielder of the season and players’ player of the season was said to be buying electricity at the time and had his watch and wallet stolen.

Nasty C

Hip-hop star Nasty C was traumatised after being held at gunpoint and tied up in his home in Roodekrans, Johannesburg, in September. SAPS spokesperson Mavela Masondo told TshisaLive that two armed suspects entered the rapper’s house, one armed with a gun and the other with a knife.

Nasty C and his friends were robbed of their valuables, including laptops, smart tablets, cellphones and a Rolex watch.

 

Demi- Leigh Nel Peters

Before she became Miss Universe Demi-Leigh has just been crowned Miss South Africa when she was held at gunpoint by five men in an attempted hijacking. The traumatic incident took place in Hyde Park, Joburg, as the beauty queen was on her way to an event, but thanks to her defensive driving skills she managed to escape.
