The self-proclaimed Queen of Bling, Khanyi Mbau has come out to defend the ‘racist’ Dove advert that shocked and offended many.

Mbau uploaded a full video of the advert on her Instagram, telling people to ‘chill’. “Found the full version of this interesting ad that had the whole world in a rage... sadly we all saw the first part of it in a form of a still picture.. now that the full version is out.. your thoughts.. personally I think we all need to chill! Everything has become personal!!! Seriously people... not everything is about getting the black man!!” she captioned the video.

Followers of @mbaureloaded immediately jumped to her comments section to express their thoughts. “Not surprised by your comment @mbaureloaded. Why would you be outraged by this since you have bleached your skin?” @sergekulapa wrote. “I'm sure Dove is gona pay you for your statement Khanyi??????push the hustle mntanasekhaya” joked @phepzak.

Beauty and personal care brand Dove, found itself in a social media storm after releasing a series of images that that showed a black woman turning white after using its soap. Dove took down the advert after angry social media users labelled it racist.

"This did not represent the diversity of real beauty which is something Dove is passionate about and is core to our beliefs‚ and it should not have happened. We have removed the post and have not published any other content. We do not condone any activity or imagery that insults any audience. Our richness lies in our diversity. Our beauty comes in different shapes‚ sizes‚ hair textures and skin tones. We believe beauty is diverse and diversity is beautiful‚" Dove apologised in a statement shared onto their Facebook page.
