SABC 1’s Tjovitjo broke television records when it premiered four months ago and turned most of our Sundays into Tjovitjo Sundays.
It quickly became a drama that left viewers wanting more each time an episode came to an end --and now in its final episode of the season, viewers of the popular drama series will experience high-class dancing styles that they have never witnessed before.
The Vandals and Ama-Tjovitjo will bring their a-game on as they turn the township's dusty dancing square into a real battleground for a cash prize of R20 000.
Viewers have no choice but 'o tlala' -- a phrase made popular by award-winning actor Warren Masemola, who won the hearts of South Africans with his phrase 'O tatala nana'.
The multi-talented actor who plays the role of Mafred, a pantsula dancer in the series, revealed in an interview with YOU that he had to take dance classes for his iconic role.
“I had to take many classes for hours on end – to the point where I had blisters,” the star revealed.
The series also features well-known actors such as Rapulana Seiphemo, Harriet Manamela, Soso Rungqu and Ntosh Madlingozi among others.
This final episode will also be jam-packed with action, highlighting social issues such as unsafe abortions, the zama-zama occurrence and physical abuse.
SABC 1's acting programmes manager, Sane Zondi, told DRUM that the channels management would like to thank their viewers for continued support.
“We promise to bring back their favourite series in the New Year with even more compelling Mzansi stories to tell," she said Watch Tjovitjo tonight at 8pm on SABC 1.
