For this list, we're taking a look at countries which secured back-to-back wins at the Miss World and Miss Universe pageants.

With over 100 countries participating in these prestigious pageants every year, the chances of countries securing consecutive wins are slim, but it doesn't mean that it's impossible.

Although South Africa failed to make the list, we narrowly missed out on the feat in 2018, when Tamaryn Green placed second at the Miss Universe pageant in Thailand, one year after Demi-Leigh Tebow took home the crown.

But 2019 marked a sandwich win when Zozibini Tunzi reigned supreme. Read more about what's a sandwich win here

Back to our list, here are four countries which secured consecutive wins and the ladies who made their nations proud.

1. SWEDEN

The first back-to-back win happened in 1952, when May-Louise Flodin from Sweden took home the prestigious title of Miss World just one year after Kiki Håkansson in 1951.

2. UNITED KINGDOM

Ann Sidney and Lesley Langley nabbed the second back-to-back victory in history when they were crowned Miss World in 1964 and 1965 respectively.

3. INDIA

One of the most well-known Miss World titleholders Priyanka Chopra was crowned the winner in 2000, securing a double victory, one year after Yukta Mookhey was triumphant in 1999.

4. VENEZUELA

Although Miss World has seen the rare occurrence happen three times before, a back to back win has only taken place once in Miss Universe history.

Venezuela's Dayana Mendoza and Stefanía Fernández are the only titleholders to win consecutive years in 2008 and 2009 - in the pageants 68-year history.
