Johannesburg – The 11th annual Feather Awards took place on Thursday, once again presenting celebrities with titles like Drama Queen and Diva Extraordinaire of the Year.
This year, the Feathers also added four new categories to the show: Best Rainbow Parenting, Best LGBTIQ Student Movement, Best LGBTIQ Initiative in the Public Sector, and Best LGBTIQ Initiative in the Private Sector.
The show was hosted by media personalities Moshe Ndiki, Rami Chuene and Pabi Moloi.
Having been a voice for the LGBTIQ community for over a decade, this year the Feathers took things to the next level, with celebrations extending beyond just an awards evening.
The organisation launched the Feathers Festival, which kicked of on Thursday and extends into Saturday 19.
The festival is dedicated to celebrating the LGBTIQ community through arts.
