Johannesburg – Thursday saw the winners of the first official Dance Music Awards South Africa being announced at a prestigious closed ceremony in Boksburg, Ekhuruleni.
Winners were voted for online by the South African public over the past few weeks.
How the awards worked:
Fans nominated their top five favourites for each award. This was followed by a finalist selection running for the past month online ending last week. The online votes were tallied up by an independent auditing company and the winners announced as below.
An additional award 'Pioneers of House Award’, an award which pays homage and gives recognition to a legendary dance artist was also added to the list of winners.
