Cape Town - Generations actor David Phetoe died at the age of 86 on Thursday.
Phetoe was famous for his role as Paul Moroka on Generations died after suffering from an undisclosed illness.
Tributes and messages of condolences have been pouring in on social media following the 85-year old actor’s death.
Actress and television producer Connie Ferguson who started her career alongside Phetoe in the 90s expressed her grief in a Twitter post.
“My heart breaks! So saddened by your loss Papa David. What an honor 2 have called u “Papa” 4 the longest time!” a devastated Connie Wrote.
“U will be dearly missed. I pray 4 strength 4 your family & loved ones. Go join the other angels who advocate for us on the other side. #RIPDavidPhetoe” she continued.
David Phetoe played the role of a father to Karabo Moroka (Connie Ferguson) and Archie Moroka (Sello-Maake ka Ncube) in the first instalment of the SABC’s Generations soapie.
Phetoe has also featured on the South-African drama ‘Cry The Beloved Country’ and starred in the comedy Sgudi Snayisi, alongside the late Joe Mafela who passed away in March last year.
