Details of Ray Phiri’s memorial and funeral service announced

Cape Town – The details of South African jazz artist Ray Phiri’s memorial service have been released by family spokesperson, Paul Nkanyane.

Phiri’s death was announced to a stunned nation on Wednesday morning.

Nkanyane spoke to The Juice on Thursday afternoon saying: “The memorial service will be this coming Thursday the 20th and then the funeral will be on the following Saturday. Both will be at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. The time is yet to be confirmed.”

UPDATE:

The Juice spoke to the department of Premier of Mpumalanga on Tuesday and it was confirmed that Phiri's memorial service will start at Thursday at 10:00 while the funeral will start at 08:00 on Saturday.
