Cape Town - In a shocking announcement on Periscope DJ Fresh has left 5FM and has joined Metro FM.
5FM confirmed the news to The Juice. The station's marketing manager and acting station manager, Liesl Hefkie, says the relationship between Metro FM and 5FM has always been a mutually beneficial one that sees the two commercial powerhouses of the SABC share audiences and ideas.
The move for Fresh to Metro FM has been a long-term plan for the two brands. “We wish Fresh all the best and thank him for the incredible service and commitment to 5FM over the years," she said.
Starting on Monday DJ Fresh will have a breakfast show on Metro FM.
Friday has been a big day in radio with a lot of DJs (including Unathi) announcing their plans to leave their current stations.
