DJ Tira says ancestors gave him strength to fight off mugger

Cape Town - DJ Tira fought off a mugger who tried to steal his phone.

According to The Daily Sun, DJ Tira was attacked while walking from the stage to the parking lot after a performance in Newtown, Johannesburg. The DJ was talking on his phone when the incident took place.

"My phone is like my life and I had to fight back," the Umsindo hitmaker told the publication.

DJ Tira told The Daily Sun a suspect grabbed his phone. He went on to say that the phone contained important documents and that losing it would mean a big loss. "I called on the ancestors and they gave me the power to fight," said DJ Tira.

He went on to say that he never felt so strong in his life.

Taking to Twitter he said, "I didn't beat up anyone on purpose, I was protecting myself!"

He went on to say that he got his phone back.

We're so happy that the DJ didn't get injured!
