Dumi Masilela's life remembered in pictures

Johannesburg – On Thursday Rhythm City fans woke up to the news that actor Dumi Masilela died following an attempted hijacking in Tembisa. 

Police spokesperson Kay Makhubele confirmed the news, saying, "Two men (including Masilela) were sitting in a white Golf 7 last night when they were approached by a black Jeep who tried to hijack them. The two occupants in the Golf tried to drive off and one of them was shot."

The police are investigating a case of murder and attempted hijacking. 

This multi-talented star was not only known for his role on the e.tv drama, but also as a singer - who took part in season eight of Idols SA in 2012 - and a soccer star, having played for SuperSport United and Highlands Park.
