Former Generations actor David Phetoe has passed away at the age of 86. You may remember him as Paul Moroka from Generations as he was part of the original cast when the TV drama first appeared on our TV screens back in 1994. He was the head of the Moroka family in the soap opera.
The actor died last night in hospital. Tributes for the giant are coming in strong on social media. His memorial and funeral arrangements are yet to be announced.
The SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago says David contributed enormously to South Africa’s entertainment industry. Minister Jeff Radebe also sent a tribute to the legend and said, “I would like to extend my deepest condolences on the passing on of veteran actor David Phetoe who was popularly known as Paul Morooka on the soapie, Generations. May his soul rest in peace.”
