Former Jam Alley presenter and Giyani actress Vinolia "V-Mash" Mashego has died at age 56.
According to her sister Prelley Seale, the legendary presenter died suddenly in her home on Monday morning.
Vinolia's father Collin Mashego tells DRUM that she died peacefully in her sleep and was found in her Mamelodi home this morning.
"We got a call from the neighbours telling us that they didn't see her come out of the house this morning like she always does,' says Collin.
"They know she suffers from asthma, so they were worried and quickly gave me a call to check if she was okay," he adds.
"The paramedics confirmed that she died in her sleep," he said.
Vinolia lived alone in her RDP house in Mamelodi.
"I was with her mom and her son. We knocked at the door but there was no answer and when there was no answer, we broke the door open and found her in bed," he adds.
A bereaved Collin says he never imagined he would be the one burying his daughter. "Oh my Vinolia," "but it is well."
Vinolia recently made her return to TV as the host of Moja Love's Bheka Sik'bambile and landed an acting role on Giyani: Land of Blood.
She leaves behind her 20-year-old son, Oratile.
