Funeral and memorial service details for Mandla Hlatshwayo confirmed

Johannesburg – Memorial arrangements for the late Mandla Hlatshwayo have been confirmed by family spokesperson, Daddy Motswagae.

Speaking to The Juice, Daddy says the memorial, which will be open to the public, will take place on Thursday 18 May.

“One thing that I can confirm is the memorial service which will be taking place on Thursday at Protea Hall in Protea Gardens. So it will be from 16:00 until 18:00.”

The funeral service for the former Generations star will be held on Saturday at Protea Hall from 08:00 to 11:00, and will proceed to Olifantsvlei Cemetery.

The family friend also spoke about the condition of family members, saying that they are not handling the passing of Mandla well.

“They can’t really accept it because it’s still fresh to them so they're not okay. No one is actually okay at all.”

Mandla was fatally shot at Meli Lounge in Pimville, Soweto, whilst alledgedly trying to assist two women who were being robbed (details here).

A candlelight vigil will take place at Meli Lounge on Tuesday between 18:00 and 20:00 where family and friends will gather to say a prayer for the deceased.
